Schenectady – Carol A. Esposito, 85, entered into the gates of Heaven on February 17, 2026. Born in Schenectady, New York on December 6, 1940, she was the daughter of the late John and Dorothy Matarazzo.
Carol was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Affectionately known as “GiGi” by her great-grandchildren, she adored her grandchildren and cherished every moment spent with her great-grandchildren — each one held a special place in her heart. Carol often lovingly told each of her grandchildren that they were “her favorite.” Family was the center of her world, and she took great pride in preparing holidays and gatherings that created lasting memories for those she loved. GiGi was always sure to have Play-Doh ready at the kitchen table for the grandchildren to enjoy.
She enjoyed cooking, cleaning, gardening, yard work, and maintaining a beautiful home. Carol had a generous and compassionate spirit. She was known for feeding the wildlife that visited her door, taking in stray animals, helping the homeless, and giving to multiple charities. She prayed faithfully for anyone in need and was always ready to lend a helping hand. Her kindness and selflessness touched many lives.
Carol was predeceased by her beloved husband, Salvatore Esposito, and her daughter, Debbie Randle.
She is survived by her loving children, John (Tina Hennessey) and Lori (Ed) Kuhl; her cherished grandchildren, Mickey (Nicole) Randle, Sara (Ricky) Castiglia, Amanda (Josh) Kruk, AJ Kuhl, Nathan (Emily) Kuhl, Melissa (Matt) Deffer, Anthony Esposito, and Nick Esposito; as well as 13 great-grandchildren, Kiera, Koen, Elijah, Jacob, Arabella, Lauren, Nathan Jr. , Cameron, Jameson, Morgan, Lucia, Lucas, Penelope, all of whom brought her immense joy.
Carol’s love, strength, and generosity will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew her.
