Carol D. Duffy, 86, of Vero Beach, Florida, formerly of Dutchess and Ulster Counties in New York, passed away Wednesday, January 17, 2018 at her home in Troy, NY.
Carol was the daughter of the late Arthur Denning and Ethel (Best) Denning.
Born and raised in Queens, New York where she received her high school education. Carol married George Duffy and moved to upstate New York, eventually settling with her family in Stanfordville, NY. She was employed by the Dutchess County Commissioner of Jurors until her retirement. She moved to Highland, NY before relocating to Vero Beach, Florida.
Carol was a member of the American Kennel Club and was the first woman delegate. She judged throughout the country and traveled internationally. She developed countless, lifelong friendships arising from the showing and judging of dogs. Her first love was raising and showing Afghan hounds. Her love of animals in general pervaded her life. Carol also loved riding horses.
She was a lifelong fan of the NY Giants.
Loving mother of the late Michael Duffy, James (Nancy Leon) Duffy and Allyn Duffy, cherished grandmother of Garrett Duffy, Connor Duffy, Thomas Duffy, Dahne Duffy and Reilly Duffy. Dearest sister of the late James Denning. Survived by two nieces Gail Denning and Linda Lee, in addition to an extended family including; Allan Best, Doug Best, Scott Denning and Holly Denning.
The family is planning a memorial ceremony at a time and date to be announced.
