COLONIE__Carmen Santus Agrusti, 89, passed into eternal life on Sunday, May 31, 2015 at the Albany County Nursing Home.
Carmen was born on March 30, 1926 in Watervliet, NY to the late George and Angeline Agrusti of Albany. He was a WWII, Navy veteran and held various jobs, but held much pride for his time serving the Albany Fire Department. He was a friend to all animals and they surrounded him when in his presence.
Carmen is survived by his wife, Carol, whom he married on September 1, 1955. He is also survived by his brother, John Agrusti and his children, Frank Agrusti, Michelle (Paul) Isgro, Christopher Agrusti, Sarina (Pete) Dayter, Anne (Adam) Joachim, and Edward Agrusti. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Carmen, Damian and Aiyden Agrusti, Kyle Bolaski, Ivan and Adrian Joachim, Alex, Brian and Eric Dayter and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Carmen is predeceased by his siblings Francis, Rocco, Anthony, Violet, Lillian, Rose, Mary.
His family sends a special thank you to those who cared for him and touched his life at the Albany Stratton VA Medical Center, the CDTA Star Bus, and many friends in Latham.
Family and friends may call from 5pm to 8pm on Friday, June 5, 2015 at New Comer Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie, NY.
Private graveside service and burial will be at Saratoga National Cemetery.
