Candace J. Starkes

It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved daughter, Candace J. Starkes, affectionately known to her family and friends as "Candy." Candace departed this life on August 18, 2026.

Candace was born on April 10, 1985, in Schenectady, New York, to her loving parents, Connell Starkes and Carolyn Starkes. She grew up in Scotia, New York, surrounded by the love of her family. From the moment she entered their lives, Candace brought joy, laughter, love, and a beautiful light that could never be replaced.

Candace will be remembered as a bright, kind, and gentle soul with a personality all her own. She loved to dress, and fashion was a special part of who she was. She had her own sense of style and loved expressing herself through the clothes she wore. Her beautiful smile, loving personality, and unforgettable spirit touched the hearts of her family and everyone fortunate enough to know her.

Above all, Candace treasured her family, and the moments she shared with the people she loved. Whether it was a special occasion, a family gathering, or simply spending time together, those moments became memories that her loved ones will carry in their hearts forever.

Candace leaves to cherish her memory her loving parents, Connell Starkes and Carolyn Starkes; her siblings: Tanika Hagin, Latoya Robinson, Camille Sheffield, Elisha Starkes, and Isaiah L. Harris; her beloved nieces and nephews, along with numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family members, and dear friends who loved her deeply.

She was preceded in death by her beloved grandparents, whose memories remain forever treasured by the family.

Although Candace is no longer with us in person, her love, her smile, her style, her laughter, and the memories she created will continue to live on in the hearts of everyone who knew and loved her. Her presence in the lives of her family can never be replaced, and her memory will forever be a part of their story.
