Albany - Burton W. "Whitey" Harris, 66, passed away on October 22 at home in Chatham, NY, surrounded by his loving family. Whitey was born on March 11, 1950 to the late Burton G. and Norma Harris. Whitey married his love Kathryn "Katie" Knapp on January 8, 1971.
Whitey was a long time employee of the Times Union and Price Chopper. He was well known for his sense of humor and positive attitude.
Along with his wife, Whitey is survived by his sons, Chris (Lauren), Mark (Christie), and Jeff (Nancy); his daughter, Kelly (Mike) Harris; three sisters, Barbara, Sandy and Laurie; two brothers, George and Harry; his eldest grandson, who lived with him, Christopher; with ten other grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Whitey was predeceased by his granddaughter, Mckenzie Harris.
Calling hours will be held on Friday, October 28, 2016, at New Comer Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie, from 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm.
