It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Bruce Boice, 63, of Latham. He leaves behind his beloved wife of 38 years, Vicki, and his sons, Jesse (Carolyn) of Colonie and Nick (Alissa) of Celina Texas. He was a proud grandfather to his cherished granddaughter, Maggie, with another granddaughter, Stevie, on the way. He is also survived by his brother, Howard (Michele) of South Glens Falls, his sister Sharon (Bobby) Hufnagel of Florida, and his brother-in-law, Jeff (Cella) Schoonmaker of Ganesvoort, along with his nieces and many cousins. He was predeceased by his parents, Howard Boice and Dorothy Sendall Boice.
Bruce was a man who knew how to enjoy the ride- literally. Whether he was out on his Goldwing motorcycle, heading to the casino for a little fun, or just spending a quiet afternoon surrounded by the people he loved, he was in his element. He had a natural gift for making people laugh, and he was never happier than when he was bringing a smile to someone’s face.
Bruce was a hard worker with a knack for building and fixing things. He spent his career in construction, eventually working his way up to become project manager at AOW Construction in Albany. He used his skills and work ethic at home too. He spent years upgrading and improving his family’s dream home with his own two hands, and he spent countless days helping his son, Jesse with his home as well.
More than anything, Bruce was a family man. He was a devoted husband and a loving father. They only thing Bruce loved more than his sons was constantly teasing them. He also shared an incredibly close, special bond with his granddaughter, Maggie, whose face would light up the second “Papa” walked through the door. He couldn’t wait to share that same bond with his new granddaughter, Stevie as well.
Whether he was cracking a joke, lending a hand on a project, or just enjoying the ride. Bruce left a permanent impression on everyone he crossed paths with. He was a good man through and through, and he will be deeply missed.
