Brenda E. Burke

Brenda E. Burke, 80, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 14, 2025, surrounded by care and compassion. The nurses and doctors on her floor considered her a true VIP.

Born in Highland, NY, Brenda was the daughter of the late Edward and Marjorie (Ford) Burke. She devoted her entire career to nursing, a calling that perfectly matched her generous spirit and her gift for caring for others. Brenda was loving and laid-back, yet also a spirited “spit-fire” who marched confidently to the beat of her own drum.

Family was at the center of her life. She deeply cherished her loved ones and shared a special bond with her beloved dog, Ore. Brenda is survived by her daughter, Yvette Dugger-Williams; her three grandchildren, Jose, Levina, and Mario, who lovingly knew her as “Mima”; and her siblings, David and Irene Willcheck, along with several nieces and nephews. She is reunited in heaven with her son, Sean Burke.

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, November 19, 2025, from 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie, NY 12205. A memorial service will begin at 2:30 p.m. 

Brenda’s warmth, strength, and spirit will be forever remembered by all who knew and loved her.
