It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Bozena Teresa Grosman, a loving mother, devoted community member, and beloved friend, who passed away on Sunday, March 22, 2026, after a courageous battle with breast cancer. She was 62 years old.
Born in Hrubieszow, Poland, Bozena was a cherished presence in the lives of all who knew her. She was a proud member of the Polish community, deeply involved in local cultural events and traditions, and always sought to bring people together with her warmth, kindness, and generous spirit.
For over two decades, Bozena was a valued member of the staff at SUNY Albany, where she worked diligently since the 1990s. As custodial supervisor for many years, she took pride in her work and in ensuring the comfort and well-being of all those on campus. Her dedication and strong work ethic were deeply respected by her colleagues, and she retired in 2022 after a long and fulfilling career.
Outside of her professional life, Bozena had a deep love for gardening. She found joy tending to her vegetable garden and was delighted by the sight of hummingbirds at her feeders. She also had a passion for travel, with a particular love for exotic destinations. Whether it was the sun-drenched beaches of Cancun or the vibrant landscapes of Thailand, she sought out adventure and new experiences.
She is survived by her devoted husband Edward Kisiel, her daughters Kinga Faulkner (and husband Ryan Faulkner) and Emily Zajaczkowski (and husband Dylan Chevalier); Edward’s children Kinga Kisiel-Zygnerska and Kamil Kisiel, along with their spouses and children, and many other cherished family members and friends. She will be deeply missed by all who loved her.
A wake will be held on Thursday, March 26 2026, at New Comer Creations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Rd, Colonie, NY 12205, from 4pm to 7pm.
