Blanche Anna Little Butcher, 103, spouse of the late George Francis Butcher (1916-2002), passed away May 1, 2025 at the Teresian House in Albany, NY.

Born on September 15, 1921, in Jersey City, New Jersey, she was the daughter of Henry W. Little (1903-1988) and Anna Felgentreu Little (1902-2001). Blanche’s aunt, Blanche V. Blanche and George raised their family of five children in Saddle Brook, NJ before relocating to Voorheesville, NY where she was employed by the NYS Department of Education. After retiring to Whiting, NJ she enjoyed a twenty-year span of traveling the country (four times to Alaska) by van with her husband, visiting their children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews along the way while wintering in Naples, FL.

Blanche is survived by four of her five children: William D. Butcher (Jasmin), Beverly J. Butcher, Ph.D.; Thomas W. Butcher (Tiodora), and devoted caregiver, Leslie J. Butcher; nine grandchildren: Jessica A. Floyd, Jacqueline Victorio, Angelina and Alison Butcher, Ryan Butcher, Niki-Lynn Butcher, Madori and George Butcher, Liam Butcher-Regan (Shannon); and thirteen great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Audrey Little Wall, spouse of the late Arnold, and brother Henry W. Little Jr. (Antoinette); as well as innumerable, also attentive and loving, nieces, nephews, and friends.

In addition to Blanche’s husband George F. Sr., she was predeceased by their son George F. Butcher, Jr. in 1967, and her brother, Robert W. Little in 1995.

A Celebration of Life event will occur during her birthday month of September 2025, at the Paramus, NJ George Washington Memorial Park.
