Schenectady- Betty Jean Jansen , 81, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 1, 2018 at her home with her loving family by her side. Betty was the daughter of the late John and Pearl Smith and was the devoted wife to the late Edward Jansen.
Betty is survived by her children, Leo Jansen, James Jansen, Donald Jansen, Thomas Jansen, Ralph Jansen, Lori Jansen, and Betty Jo Nielson, several grand children and great grand children, sister, Joan Gage, along with nieces, nephews, and friends.
Calling hours will be held at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie, on Monday, January 8, 2017 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm. The burial will follow at Evergreen Memorial Park, Schenectady.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Betty's name to The Community Hospice at:
