Betsy Terry, 74, peacefully went home to Heaven on Friday, January 9th after a courageous battle with Alzheimer's. Born on May 3, 1951, in Saranac, NY, Betsy lived a life marked by kindness, generosity and strength. A natural caregiver by heart, she had a way of making others feel loved and cared for, which led to her successful career as a nurse. She will be deeply missed by all who know her.
Betsy was devoted to her family, friends and faith. Her compassion and grace touched many lives and will continue to live on through those she loved.
She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Thomas Terry and her children David (Laurie) Terry of Rotterdam, NY and Michael (Shannon) Terry of Voorheesville, NY, her grandchildren Mason, Kaitlyn and Jackson, her siblings Nancy (Bob) LaPierre, Sue (Syd) Haley, Brent (Paulette) Bosworth, Scott (Andrea Bosworth, Clifton (Tina) Bosworth, Kevin (Jennifer) Bosworth and Kathy Donlick, Charles Payne, as well as many nieces and nephews. Betsy also leaves behind her lifelong best friend Peggy Gardiner and her family. She was predeceased by her parents, Ernest and Catherine Bosworth, her sisters Virginia Payne and Sally Clapper, and her brother-in-law's John Donlick and Richard Clapper.
For 37 years, Betsy was an LPN at Albany County Nursing and Hallmark Nursing Home, where she left behind a legacy of professionalism and laughter before retiring in 2010. After retirement, Betsy enjoyed spending time spoiling her grandchildren, spending days at camp with family, cooking amazing meals and desserts. Betsy will fondly be remembered for her amazing sense of style, her love for shopping and her infectious laughter.
The family would like to thank the staff at The Grand Rehabilitation and Nursing in Guilderland, who cared for Betsy and became part of her family during her time there.
