Niskayuna- Bessie M. Levandosky, 93, passed away peacefully on July 3, 2018 at her home in Niskayuna. Born on October 8, 1924 in Amsterdam, NY, she was the daughter of Steve and Catherine (Ryder) Lyczko. She was married to the love of her life, William Levandosky who passed away on April 28, 2018. Bessie was a graduate of Wilbur H. Lynch High School and Amsterdam School of Commerce. She worked for Montgomery County as Treasurer for many years. She enjoyed being at her camp at Sacandaga Lake and wintered with her husband in Del Ray Beach, Florida. Bessie enjoyed cheering on the New York Yankees, she even had a dog named Jeter. In her younger years, she loved to golf and played in both New York and Florida. When she was working, Bessie was an active member of her community and belonged to many clubs and organizations; she was a devoted member of St. Mary's Church in Amsterdam. Bessie was a loving wife and mother.
She is survived by her son William (Debbie) Levandosky of Milton, VT and her daughter Barbara (Chris Fitzgerald) Levandosky of Clifton Park. She is survived by many nieces, nephews and friends. She is also survived by her grand-pets: Ruffner, Brady and Jesse.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brother Raymond Lyczko who passed while serving his country in World War II.
Bessie's family would like to extend their appreciation to the staff and caregivers from Community Hospice for their love, care and friendship.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for both Bessie and William on Wednesday, July 18 at 10 am at St. Mary's Church, 156 East Main Street, Amsterdam, New York 12010. Burial will follow in St. John's Cemetery, Amsterdam.
