BRUNSWICK, NJ- Basamma Patel, 94 years, of Davanagere, Karnataka, India and a long time resident of East Brunswick, NJ passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 30th, 2018 at Allaire Rehab and Nursing Home in Freehold, NJ. Her husband Dr. Nagana Gowda Patil passed away in 2001.
She leaves behind a very large family of seven children, Dr. Nagaraja Patil (Shantha) of Albany, Dr. Jalaja Siddappa (Dr. Siddappa) of Stone Mountain, GA, Sudha Jajoor (Dr. Nagaraj Jajoor) of Niskayuna, Nirmala Vishweshwariah (Dr. Vishweshwariah) of Littleton, CO, Dr. Jayakumar Patil (Purnima) of Bedford, NH, Dr. Gangadhar Patil (Suchetha) of Sutton MA, Vijayalakshmi Neelgund (Dr. Ashwini Neelgund) of East Brunswick,NJ. She has 12 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and a very large extended family in the US and India including a sister mourning her loss.
Calling hours are scheduled for Saturday, February 3, 2018 from 9:30am-11:30am at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Rd., Albany, NY 12205. A Burial Service will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery. A get together for family and friends is arranged at the Hindu Cultural Center, Albany Shaker Rd., in Albany following the Burial.
Memorial contributions may be made to The Hindu Temple, Albany Shaker Rd., Albany.
