Colonie - Aubrey A. Cleveland, 99, passed away on September 26, 2016.
Mr. Cleveland was born in Halafax, Nova Scotia, Canada and came to New York through Ellis Island at the age of 15. He was the loving husband of 73 years of Gertrude (Corkey) Heinecke Cleveland. Father of Linda Cleveland, Colonie; Kathaleen Cleveland, Schenectady; Debra Cleveland, Fort Plain; and William Cleveland, Altamont.
He is also survived by six grandchildren; Cristina Scheid, Bethlehem; Jill Campbell, Syracuse; Kimberly Mullin, Guilderland; Molly, Olivia, William Cleveland, Altamont; and eight great grandchildren; Tyler and Ryan Campbell; Carly and Riley Scheid; and Cole, Andrew, Jack, Cally Mullin. He is survived by a sister, Jean Zembo, Colonie.
He was an Electrician with Local #724 (now #236) for 57 years. He served for many years on the Residential Committee of the Liberty Foundation. Mr. Cleveland will always be remembered for being a hard worker and a loving husband and father.
The Cleveland family wishes to thank the Third Floor RN's, LPN's and aides at Baptist Health Facility for their loving and compassionate care.
Services will be Thursday, September 29 at New Comer Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie. Calling hours will be 4:00 - 6:00 pm. Interment will be Friday, September 30 at 9:30 am at Memory Gardens, Colonie.
Memorial contributions may be made in Aubrey's name to the Liberty Foundation of Amsterdam, 43 Liberty Drive, Amsterdam, NY 12010.
