COLONIE - Arthur Milton Thomas, 90, of Colonie, passed away after a long illness on Saturday, January 20, 2018 at Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Delmar.
He was born in Stockport, NY, and was the son of the late John and Elsie (Gearhart) Thomas. Art was predeceased by his beloved wife of 67 years, Kathryn (Hughes) Thomas in March of 2016. He proudly served with the U.S. Navy during World War II, and was retired from Freihofer's Bakery after 23 years.
Art was the devoted father of Kathleen (William) Kerwin and Arthur (Glenn Dragone) Thomas, and loving grandfather of Mark (Jenna) Kerwin. Art is also survived by his sister Marion Kingsbury (late Gerald), as well as many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his brothers and sisters, Irving, William, George, Frank, John, Walter, Edwin, Eva, Gladys, Rosemary, Florence, Pansy, and Sylvia Jean.
A private graveside funeral service with military honors was held at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Colonie. Memorial contributions may be made in Art's name to Blessed Sacrament Church, 607 Central Ave, Albany, NY 12206.
