Arthur James Rafferty

Arthur J. Rafferty, 76, passed away on July 31, 2026, at St. Peter’s Hospital in Albany, NY, surrounded by loved ones.

Arthur was born in 1949 to Mildred M. Rosenberger and John F. Rafferty Sr. Arthur is pre deceased by his brother John F. Rafferty Jr. (Albany, NY). He leaves behind his sister Anne Hynes (Peter),(Fla.), sister-in-law Donna and a niece and nephews. Scott Bartkowski, Rebecca Rupeka, John Rafferty III, and Kevin Hynes. As well as several great nieces and nephews.

In 1968, Arthur enlisted in the United States Navy and was honorably discharge in 1971. He went on to work for the United States Post Office for over 33 years. Arthur graduated from the University of Tennessee with a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science.

Arthur enjoyed fishing, walking, the NHRA, staying active and spending time with his family.

He lives on in every person that he shared conversation with and a smile and laugh, saying until next time!

Calling hours will be held at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Road, Albany, New York on Thursday, August 6, 2026 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm. A funeral service will follow the calling hours at 12:00 pm at the funeral home. Interment will follow the service at St. Agnes Cemetery, Menands, New York where he will be laid to rest with his family.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Kitten Angels, 233 Houseman St, Mayfield, NY 12117 in Arthur's memory.
