Annis D. Hale Draiss

Schenectady- Annis D. Hale Draiss. Ann, was age 89 years young when she passed away on July 15, 2026, in Schenectady, NY at home from a long illness. 

She was born on February 27, 1937, in Troy, NY to Nelson Lucas Hale and Agatha Ruth Lewis. Ann was educated at St. Mary’s School and a 1956 graduate of Catholic Central High School in Troy, NY. She had lived in Hurley, NY for over 15 years before moving to Guilderland, NY in 1976. She lived in Schenectady for the past 30 years at the time of her passing.

Ann owned and operated the Corner Ice Cream Store in Guilderland, NY for more than 25 years which she totally enjoyed, retiring in the early 2000’s.

She was a long-time member of the Red Hat society and led the Aerobics class at the Rotterdam Senior Citizens Center.

Ann is predeceased by her parents and brothers, Nelson L. Jr. (Louise) Hale and William (Gloria) Hale.

She is survived by her children: Edward F. Draiss Jr., Patricia Bonitatibus (David), Kathleen Draiss Blanchette, and Scott (Amy) Draiss; her beloved grandchildren: Edward F. Draiss III, (Jessica) Katie Draiss Watson (Craig), Christopher Blanchette (Alyse) Rebecka Blanchette, Gage Draiss, Alex Draiss, and Evan Draiss; brother, Charles Joseph Hale (Jean) and great grandchildren: Benjamin Watson, Remi Watson, Hanley & Shayn Blanchette and Cameron Cox.

Her funeral services will be held on Monday July 20, 2026 at 11 a.m. at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie, NY 12205. Interment will follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Schenectady, NY.
