Listen to Obituary

Anne Carolyn Maloney (Toomey), 69, of Troy, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 15, 2026.

Anne was born and raised in Latham, New York, and spent her adult life in Troy. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend who found joy in the simple things in life and in the people she loved most.

Anne worked as a Medical Biller at Capital Cardiology and Community Care before retiring. She also loved her job at North Country Academy (ChildTime) and seeing all of the babies that she worked with. In her retirement, she enjoyed being in the comfort of her home with her beloved cats, watching her favorite soap operas and NASCAR, scratching her scratch-offs, and spending time with her family.

Anne had a special talent for knitting and often made homemade items for her grandchildren. Her handmade gifts were more than just something to keep warm—they were little pieces of her love that her family will cherish for years to come.

If there was a family celebration, there was one thing everyone could count on: Anne would have scratch-offs for everyone. It was one of the many little traditions that made her presence at family gatherings so special.

Anne had a heart that cared deeply for others. She was the kind of person who was always there when someone needed her, no matter what. She cared for her family, friends, and the people around her with a depth and sincerity that will never be forgotten. Her love was shown not only through her words, but through the countless little things she did for the people she loved.

Anne is survived by her daughters, Tara Ham (Jason), Kyle Maloney, Corey Maloney, and Christine Maloney (Jason Dalaba); her son, Theron Maloney; her grandchildren, Rileigh McMahon (Derek), Joshua Ham, Rian Ham, Rowan Dalaba, Aylish Dalaba, and Lucas Dalaba; and her great-granddaughter, Winifred McMahon. She is also survived by her sisters Karen Childs (William) and Elizabeth Varno (Gregory).

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Timothy Maloney and her parents, William G. Toomey and Anna M. Toomey.

Anne’s family will remember her not for grand gestures, but for the simple moments that meant so much—the homemade knitted gifts, the scratch-offs at every celebration, the comfort of knowing she was always there, and the love she gave so freely to everyone around her.

She will be deeply missed, forever loved, and always remembered. Her family is grateful for every moment they were blessed to have with her.
