Anna A. Kocsis, 92, wife of the late Stanley Kocsis of Albany, NY, passed away November 3, 2025, at her daughter Betsy's home, following a courageous battle with breast cancer.
Born February 25, 1933 in Albany, NY, she was the daughter of the late Frederick and Augusta Luck.
Anna attended Albany High School and worked at Dorn's Trucking as a bookkeeper. She was very active in the Lutheran church. She lived a life full of love and forgiveness. Her faith in Jesus inspired her to open her house. Sunday dinners always included a full table with many guests, single mothers, and anyone who could use some love and friendship. Anna welcomed many to stay at her house, some staying more than a year. She believed in welcoming people to her home with an open heart.
As a young woman she aspired to have 12 children and be a teacher. After having 4 children she was satisfied with having 4 and not 12. However, there was a blessing to join the family: a fifth child was added to our household. Anna was now a mother to five children. She fulfilled her dreams by teaching Sunday School, Bible studies, Small groups, confirmation classes, VBS and young moms groups. She loved adventures and was quick to lend a hand and in any way she could. You could always find her bringing food, taking care of other people's children, doing altar guild, and bringing flowers to the sick.
Anna enjoyed adventures and traveling. Her bucket lists included traveling to Europe, Alaska, and San Francisco, which was fulfilled after her children had grown. She lived with trust and lack of fear of people. Anna often helped people who had broken down on the road or needed a lift, even with her full car of children. Anna enjoyed trivia games, card games, and being able to see most of the USA . She had a sharp wit and a generous heart. She was an independent woman who took care of people and herself and had an adventurous spirit which enabled her to create fun everywhere she went.
Anna is survived by her children, Stanley(Jo) of Niskayuna; Mark(Marty) of Dothan, Alabama; Betsy of Colonie; Paul of Palm Coast, Fl; and Joy(James) of Niskayuna; her grandchildren, Christopher, Emily, Stanley (Courtney), Kristen (Matt) Ramirez, James, Olivia, Nikolaus, Sean, and Ian; Great granddaughters, Savannah and June.
