Ann Whittmore

Ann (Comenzo) Whittmore, 86, wife of the late Gary L. Whittmore of Schenectady, NY, passed away on Wednesday, October 23, 2024, after a short illness with her family by her side. 

Born March 22, 1938, in Blackpool, England, she was the daughter of the late Doreen G. and Louis A. Comenzo.

For the majority of her life, Ann served as a Certified Nursing Assistant beginning her career at Ellis Hospital, and retiring in 2016 from Baptist Retirement Center. Ann found the good in the people she knew, and assumed it in all those she met. She brought out the best in people. Ann was an amazing mother and the best big sister in the world. 

Ann is survived by her two daughters, Shelley Ann DeGuerre and Peggie Ann Perrino; her sisters, Carol D. Collura and Susan A. Comenzo; her brother-in-law, Russell Collura, who she thought of as a brother; her nephew, Richard L. and grand-nephews, Michael T. and Christian L. Collura; and her stepchildren Gary Jr., Scott Whittmore, and Wendy (Paul) Hicks. Ann will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. 

 She was predeceased by her beloved nephew, Michael L. Collura.

 The family would like to thank the ICU at Ellis Hospital for their excellent care and compassion. 

 Services will be private.
