Andrew J. Wiener

Andrew John Wiener was born on April 13, 1950, and passed away on June 16, 2025. Andrew (Andy) was the cherished son of Helen and Henry Wiener (both deceased) and loving brother to his five siblings Hank, Carol, Fred (D), Charles and Donald. The Wiener home, in Corona Queens, NY, was filled with love and fun, and was a gathering place for everyone. Andy was a very active young man who loved all sports, but especially softball and golf. Andy worked his entire career with American Airlines starting in New York and moving to Tulsa, OK with AA in 1972 where he lived for 32 years with MANY visits home. He was loved by all. He had a large group of friends in Tulsa and coached the Women’s softball team at AA for a number of years. He was also a star player for AA travel softball team that travelled the country representing AA.

Andy was never married, but he loved children and was always involved with his many nieces and nephews, 16 in all (Tom, Liz, Danielle, Allison, Jeanette, Dave, Matt, Chris, Rori, Dan, Jennifer, Chuck, Kat, Corin, Nicole and Steve). He will be missed by all, but especially the 19 grandnieces and grandnephews who he loved and doted on. He was considered the “funny Uncle” because he was a kid at heart.

When Andy retired, he moved to Delanson, NY, to live with his brother Don and his family for 13 years. When Don moved to Michigan, Andy moved into a very modern apartment that he loved. Unfortunately, only a week after actually moving to the apartment he suddenly and unexpectantly passed away. He will be missed by all his friends but especially his siblings and his nieces and nephews.

There will be a Catholic Mass on July 19, 2025, at 1:30 pm at St Pius X Church; 23 Crumitie Road; Loudonville, NY 12211 – Phone 518 462-1336 followed by a Memorial Service to celebrate Andy at the Desmond Hotel, 660 Albany Shaker Road, Latham, NY, 12211, Phone 833 320-3427 on July 19, 2025, at 4:00 pm.
