Anatolii Shevtchuk, 86, passed away October 21, 2016, after a short illness, with his family at his side. He was born in Latvia on September 5th, 1930 to the late Andrei and Felka Shevtchuk. He was also predeceased by a Brother Sergei and sister Vera in Europe.
He was employed by Vogel and Red Star Express Lines, as a mechanic. He spent all of his free time at his camp on Lake Champlain, where he enjoyed fishing, hunting, tinkering, and gardening. He is survived by his wife of 64 years Antonia, his children: Sergei (Tracy), Grandson: Samuel of Albany, Victor (Sera) of N.J., and Luba (Nick) of N.J. .
We would like to thank all of the first responders and Albany Medical Center for caring for him in the last days, the Parish of the Nativity of the Mother of God Church for their thoughts and prayers, and the Federov family for their caring hearts.
Calling hours will be at the Nativity of the Mother of God Church at 617 Sand Creek Road, on Monday, October 24th, 2016, from 4:00 pm to 6:30 pm with a Panhida Service at 7:00 pm. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, October 25th, 2016, at 8:30 am, with burial following in Jordanville, NY.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Anatolii's name to the Nativity of the Mother of God Church.
