Amy E. Dinn

Amy Ellis Dinn passed away peacefully on July 20, 2026. 

She was born and raised in Plattsburgh, NY until her family moved to Troy, NY in 1985. She was a graduate of Catholic Central High School, LeMoyne College and Rockefeller College of Public Affairs and Policy. She was employed by the New York Conference of Mayors after graduate school and later enjoyed a 20+ year career in real estate. After taking an early retirement, Amy most of all enjoyed spending time with her family, friends, and her steady stream of rescue pets.

She was the daughter of Richard "Dick" Ellis and Ellen Schofield Ellis, and daughter-in-law of Carol Dinn. She was the sister of Michael Ellis (Evelyn). Among the many other people Amy loved dearly in her lifetime were her aunts, uncles, sisters-in-law, cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and many dear friends.

Last, but not least, Amy leaves behind her husband and soulmate of over 30 years, Sean Dinn, as well as their cherished daughter, Grace Dinn, and her partner Greg Goldman. Amy always said her greatest joy and accomplishment in her life was her family.

The family would also like to thank the entire staff of Albany Medical Center involved in Amy's care for their amazing professionalism, thoroughness, and compassion.

Services will be private, but the family welcomes you to share your condolences or fond memories on Amy's Facebook page for her loved ones to read and find comfort. Since Amy was a passionate advocate for animals, a wonderful way to honor her memory would be to consider rescuing an animal or donating to the Mohawk Hudson Humane Society or Hop on Home Rabbit Rescue.
