CLIFTON PARK-Alfred T. Cullen, 67, died suddenly at his home in Clifton Park, New York. Born in Schenectady, New York to the late James T. Cullen and Isabelle (Plude) Cullen, Fred graduated in 1970 with a BA in History from College of the Holy Cross in Worchester, MA and later in 1972 from SUNY Albany with a Master's in Public Administration. He began a long career in New York State service with the Department of State as a Bingo Control Inspector before moving on to the Department of Labor, the Department of Social Services, and the Division of Medical Assistance, finally retiring in 2004 with the New York State Department of Health as a Medicaid Specialist. In addition to being an avid golfer and a fan of horse racing, he loved spending time with his three doting stepdaughters, Lisa Miller (Jeff) of Guilderland; Michele Pezzula (Mark) of East Greenbush and Shannon Pinkowski (Ian Henry) of Albany. He was predeceased by his parents, his brother James Thomas Cullen, Jr. and his loving wife Audrey Cullen. In addition to his step daughters, he is survived by his sister in law Betty Cullen, five grandchildren, Cole and Ava Miller, Olivia and Reece Henry and Aiden Cohen and a niece and a nephew.
Calling hours will be held from 6 to 7 PM on Thursday, May 28, 2015 at New Comer Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie with a funeral service to immediately follow at 7 PM.
