Alexander Knapp died suddenly on November 14, 2025. He was born on November 1, 1982, graduated from Guilderland High School in 2000 and Binghamton University in 2004. He earned a Certified Public Accounting designation and had a career in accounting in New York and Albany.
A man of many talents, he was an avid reader who consumed the classics and current events. He was knowledgeable about all things cinema and was our cultural guru. Alex also participated in a wide variety of sports, including baseball, golf, disc golf, competitive swimming and water polo, and founded the Binghamton University Water Polo Club.
Alex’s love of family and friends was boundless. He valued connection and inspired others to do so as well. He had a deep empathy that reached into disabled and underserved communities. He participated in volunteer and non-profit programs for children and those with physical limitations. He is survived by his parents Wayne Knapp and Kathleen Mack of Guilderland, his brothers Andrew (Jenny) of Corning, NY, Jeffery (Emily) of Jacksonville, FL and sister Amy (Richard) Hemmer of Springfield, VA.
A visitation will be held on Sunday November 23rd from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Rd, Colonie, NY 12205. Burial will be private.
