Albany – Alberto “Albert” J. Sacca Jr., 89, passed away on December 10, 2025. He was born on February 7, 1936, to the late Alberto Sacca and Maria Pagliarulo.
Albert proudly served in the Marine Reserves for 20 years. He worked for many years in his family-owned restaurant, Al’s Italian Restaurant. He was also employed by Tobin Packing, KeyBank, and later retired from the New York State Department of Higher Education.
Albert enjoyed spending time with his family and with the love of his life, Jeanne, to whom he was married for 70 years. He was an active member of the Italian American Community Center, where he held many positions, and was a devoted parishioner of Christ the King Church. Albert loved cooking and feeding others, going to the casino, playing bocce, and taking long walks.
He is predeceased by his son, Frank Sacca; his son-in-law, Kevin Koch; and seven brothers and sisters.
Albert is survived by his beloved wife, Jeanne Sacca; his daughters, Donna Koch and Regina Sacca; and his grandchildren Tammy (Jim) Currey, Jamie (Matthew) Thomas, Jason (Andrea) McCarthy, Nicholas Sacca, and Austin Koch. He is also survived by seven great-grandchildren; his brothers Alfred (Mary Lou) Sacca and Louis Sacca; as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends. A special thank you to the Doctors, Nurses, and support staff at St Peters Hospital and Community Hospice for the compassionate care given to Albert.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, December 18, 2025, from 10:00–11:00 AM at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie, NY 12205, immediately followed by an 11:00 AM service at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery 983 Watervliet Shaker Rd, Albany, NY 12205. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Community Hospice.
