Albert Hanson Lewis peacefully passed away on Friday, March 13, 2026. He was born on July 15, 1941 in Portland, Jamaica to Daniel Lewis and Mary Adina Thomas.
Albert began his early education in Portland, Jamaica and later relocated to Trelawny where he completed his schooling. From a young age, he demonstrated strong faith, leadership, and a deep commitment to serving others.
At the age of sixteen, Albert accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior, a decision that shaped the course of his life. By nineteen, he began preaching the gospel, and at twenty-three, he founded and led his first New Testament Assembly Church. He faithfully served in this role until the age of twenty-seven, when he migrated to the United States in 1968 in pursuit of new opportunities while continuing his lifelong dedication to faith, family and community.
Albert married the love of his life, Jean Elizabeth Webb, on April 29, 1962. Their union was grounded in love, devotion, and shared faith. Jean preceded him in death on March 2, 2025.
He leaves to cherish his memory five children, Annette G.E Malcolm, Nedian N. Correia, Peter J. Lewis, Carol J. Lewis-Jenkins and Albert H. Lewis along with eleven beloved grandchildren, two sons-in-law, two daughters-in-law, and a grandson-in-law all of whom brought him immense pride and joy. Albert is also survived by his siblings, John Lewis, Lester Lewis and Alveria Beatrice Green, as well as many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, grand-nephews and extended family members whose lives he touched deeply. He was preceded in death by his siblings George Sinclair, Valarie Gallimore and Simion Lewis.
Albert Hanson Lewis will be remembered as a devoted man of faith, a loving husband and father a dedicated minister and a guiding presence to all who knew him. His legacy of spiritual leadership, compassion and unwavering belief in God will continue to live on through his family, his ministry and the many lives he inspired.
A visitation will be held from 10:00 am to 11:00 am with a celebration of life to immediately follow at 11:00 am on Saturday, March 28, 2026 at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens.
