1998 After 36 years of marriage, his soul mate passed and entered the gates of Heaven, and he knew one day they'd meet again. Al continued to live a vigorous, independent and social life with his family and friends.
Albert was loved by many and had many interest and hobbies. He loved gardening, especially planting tomatoes. He couldn't wait to share them with everyone. Al's favorite past-time was hanging out with his friends at OTB and betting on those horses, or just taking a stroll at Colonie Center with the friends he called "Mall Buddies." He loved to listen to Luciano Pavarotti,Andrea Bocelli, and Frank Sinatra. He loved his cars, from his first Ford T-Bird, to all his Cadillacs and the SS Chevy Impala he hated to part with. Cooking was another specialty of his, there wasn't anything he couldn't cook, Al loved to make his Calamari (Squid) and his famous Pizza. Everything Al did he put his heart and soul in, his stubbornness, meticulous ways and strive for perfection showed in his work. He was known for his unique mason work, especially building fireplaces. He was so proud that he was one of only a few men that would
climb atop the Empire State Plaza Egg to do concrete work; including the brick work he did on his own house he built and lived in for 45 years.
