Aaron Thomas Raker, 22, passed away suddenly at home on September 16, 2025.
Aaron was born on July 17, 2003 at St. Peter's Hospital in Albany, NY.
From the day he was born, Aaron faced every challenge, setback and difficult situation with strength and spirit that inspired all who knew him. His time here was enhanced beyond all expectations through the Center for Disability Services. From his early days at Cloverpatch Preschool, his school years at Langan, the incredible pride he had in graduating from Langan this past June, and his very recent transition to an adult DayHab program there, we have countless positive, heartwarming memories to look back upon. We sincerely thank the Center and everyone affiliated with it for the wonderful care you provided for Aaron.
Aaron will be remembered by those who love him for his infectious laugh, his love of classic rock and College GameDay, his pure joy listening to the waves crash in the Outer Banks, the pride and amusement on his face when he listened to his little brother's stories, and the happiness and love that filled him during the times he spent with family and friends. Aaron's eyes told us more than any words could have possibly communicated.
He was predeceased by his twin brother, Michael; his grandparents, Roy and Geanne Raker; and his great grandfather, John Furmanski.
Aaron leaves to cherish his memory a large family, including: his parents, Joseph and Julissa Raker and Theresa and Darren Bessette; siblings, Zachary, Gabrielle, Makela, Ronaldo and Lucrecia; grandparents; Micki and Tom Dailey; great grandmother, Frances Furmanski; aunts and uncles, Thomas Gleason, John and Cassandra Gleason, Amy and Chris Conners and JoAnn and Todd Racino; cousins, Nora, Jack, Ella, Noah, Kathryn (daughter, Magnolia) and Claire.
A calling hour will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 20, 2025, with a celebration of life to immediately follow, at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie.
