Troy- Charles J. Lutz, 77, Passed suddenly on Monday, November 27, 2023. Charles was the son of the late Charles A. and Mabel Lutz. He was also the brother of John (Jack), Robert and Joanne. Charles was a devoted husband to Joan L. Lutz who were married 54 years. He also was a loving father and grandfather and great-grandfather. In addition to his wife, Charles is survived by his children James (Denise Mastrianni), Tina (James Caulfield), John (Jerry Moquin), Joseph and Jacqueline (Jax). He also was a grandfather of ten and great-grandfather of six. In addition to his parents, Charles is predeceased by his younger brother, Robert (Bugsy) Lutz.

After graduating from Catholic High School, Charles enlisted in the United States Marine Corps where he served proudly from May 1965 until his honorable discharge, June 1969. Charles worked as a truck driver and as a teamster with Yellow Freight in Albany, New York until his retirement in 2005.

Charles (Chuck) as he liked to be called, enjoyed spending time with his family. He was a gentleman of old standards who wanted to make sure his family wanted nothing. He was also an avid hunter and enjoyed fishing when he could. Charles was a kind soul who would help those who needed without hesitation.

Calling hours will be held at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 181 Troy Schenectady Road, Watervliet, New York 12189 on Sunday, December 3, 2023 from 1pm to 4pm. A funeral service will be held Monday, December 4, 2023 at 9:00 am at the funeral home. Burial will follow the service Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, 200 Duell Rd, Schuylerville, NY 12871.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Charles's name to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
