Born on April 15, 1937, in Castleton NY, she was the daughter of the late Roger S. Hill and Dorothy E. Anderson.
Janet graduated from Ravena Coeymans Selkirk High School in 1955, worked several jobs and raised her daughters, she then began working at NYS Department of Taxation and Finance were after 20 years she retired. After her retirement she spent years volunteering at the YMCA daycare and the Baptist Health Nursing and Rehabilitation Center gift shop. She was a selfless person who fostered children, hosted fresh air children in her home and was always there to take care of her family.
She is survived by her children Pamela Wilson, and Connie Dingman. Her grandchildren Richard, Sarah, Aubry (John), Nathaniel (Lindsey), Abigail (Andrew), and Gabriel; Great-grandchildren, Adalyn, Madelynn, Layla, Hannah-Grace, Uhtred, Elaine, and Peyton. Her twin sister Janice, sister Priscilla, and brother Roger; Cousin Joan Lindsay; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Janet was predeceased by her siblings Anne, Walter, Arthur, Marion “Suzy”, and Colin.
Visitation will take place on Monday, August 28, 2023 from 4:00pm- 7:00pm at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 181 Troy Schenectady Rd., Watervliet, NY 12189. A Funeral Service will take place on Tuesday, August 29, 2023 at 10:00am at the Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery, 983 Watervliet Shaker Rd., Albany NY 12205.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donation may be made to the East Glenville Fire Department C/O Fund Drive, 433 Saratoga Rd, Glenville, NY 12302, or by visiting East Glenville Fire Department
