Benjamin Xavier Rowe, 25, passed away on Sunday, June 25, in an act of senseless violence in Albany, New York.

Born November 25, 1997, in Niskayuna, New York, he was the beloved son of Lee Rowe and Bill Rowe, and the cherished stepson of Matthew Rogers.

Ben lived his whole life in Guilderland and graduated from Guilderland High School in 2015. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Development cum laude from the University of New York at Albany in 2020.

Ben was very passionate about music and was a pillar of the Albany music community. Ben was involved in the booking and organizing of DIY shows in the Albany area and beyond. He and his roommates ran a local venue out of their apartment, The Rat Den, providing artists with the opportunity to express themselves and community members with a place to congregate in a safe, loving environment. Ben also organized shows with CZR entertainment with longtime collaborator and friend Zeke Motzer, including the more metal-forward branch, 2deadhummingbirds, which he established alongside friend Shea VanDeusen. Active as a musical artist and songwriter, Ben served as vocalist, bassist, and front-man of Albany metal duo Miller Time, alongside longtime friend and producer/guitarist Jack Newton. Ben played bass in Medical Board, an indie slowcore duo with his brother Sam.

In addition to his loving parents, Ben is survived by his sister, Rebecca and brother, Samuel. He leaves behind bereaved Grandparents, Ellen Scammon of Eastport, NY, and Mark and Suzanne Ginsberg of Amagansett, NY, and he is predeceased by Michael Scammon, Eleanor Rowe, and Edward Rowe. Ben was deeply loved by his family and will be remembered fondly by his numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. He will be dearly missed by his closest friend Rebecca Tucker as well as his other countless friends of whom there are too many to name.

He adored them and was adored by all.
