Nancy Ellen (Stage) Keyser, 90, loving wife of the late John E. “Jack” Keyser of Rensselaer, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on May 30, 2023.

Born on October 13, 1932 in Albany, NY, to Theodore Stage and Nina (Barber) Stage.

Nancy grew up in the Delaware Ave. neighborhood of Albany, where she enjoyed the City and its Parks, Libraries, Churches and Theaters. She graduated from Albany High School. She met the love of her life, Jack, at the age of 15. Nancy and Jack were married in 1950 and spent the next 70+ years together.

She worked at the Rensselaer City school district, was involved in and was a past president of the PTA. She was also very active in the Adirondack Bluegrass League, and the Church of the Redeemer Altar Guild. Nancy loved her family and enjoyed reading, picnics, camping, gardening, bird watching and traveling North America with Jack in their RV. She was a wonderful cook and baker and her family loved her sweet treats. Mom was a kind and gentle woman with a quiet strength. She was always an example with her intelligence, beauty, grace, dignity and loving heart.

Nancy is survived by her children David (Kathleen) Keyser, John (Jennifer) Keyser, Norman Keyser, Nancy (Mike) Hardt, and Janet (Bill) Spath; grandchildren Jennifer Palmisano, Michelle (Steve) Speth, Elizabeth (Jacob) Casler, Andrew Keyser, Michael C. Hardt (Robin Dillenbeck), Nicholas Hardt, Charlie Hardt, William (Nicole) Spath, Matthew Spath (Heather Frechette), Nicole Spath (Ryan Herrington), and five great-grandchildren; Her sisters Carol Hoen, and Martha Myers, and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her siblings Thomas Stage, David Stage, and Alice Zebrowski.

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, June 7, 2023, from 10:00am - 11:00am at The Church of the Redeemer, 1249 3rd St., Rensselaer, NY 12144. A Rite of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11a. Interment to follow at Gerald B.H. Solomon National Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to The Church of the Redeemer sent to the above address.
