Loudonville - Thomas Edward Guiley, 73, husband of Deborah Anderson Guiley of Loudonville, passed away the morning of Sunday, May 28, 2023 at St. Peter’s Hospital surrounded by his beloved family. Tom was born in Wadsworth, Ohio on March 2, 1950, son to the late Clifford Dale and Chlorice Bird Guiley.

Tom was the devoted husband of 52 years to Deborah. He enjoyed traveling with his two children and visited National Parks across the country every summer. He also became a doting grandfather, playing at the beach and in the pool. As an aficionado of spicy food and a good cocktail, Tom was an excellent host and had a wry sense of humor that enlivened any party.

Tom was an avid sports fan and you could find him rooting for the NY Mets and Giants– regardless of their records. An athlete himself, he was a runner in his earlier years and developed a real love for golf. Tom was a lifelong learner and closely followed politics, never missing his favorite MSNBC programs. He was a voracious reader and favored American history, biographies, and crime thrillers.

Tom graduated from Colgate University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science in 1972. He was a career civil servant employed first at the State Capital in the Department of Budget as Chief Budget Examiner and later at the Dormitory Authority as Managing Director.

He is survived by his wife Deborah; daughter Rebecca Guiley Czornobil [Matthew] and grandson Colin of Albany; son Andrew Guiley [Marisa] of Los Angeles, CA; and his brother Dale Guiley of Copley, OH; along with nieces, nephews, and many good friends.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Monday, June 5, 2023 at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Melanoma Research Alliance, 730 15th Street NW, 4th Floor,
