Our beloved mother, Angela Frances Van Der Linden, 87 of Albany, passed away at Kingsway Arms on Friday, March 24, 2023. Angela was born in Albany, NY on October 5, 1935 to Louise and John Urbano. She attended Albany High School.


Angela married Joseph R. Van Der Linden, and together they had three children, Barbara Hiss, Diane Tenenini and Joseph F. Van Der Linden. She worked at the NY Telephone Company out of high school; was a homemaker and worked at Westmere Elementary School as a Teaching Assistant for 32 years. Her love for her family was unconditional and they meant the world to her; she loved having them all together; she was an amazing cook and baker; she loved playing cards, reading, getting together with family and friends. She loved everyone and everyone loved her.


Angela is survived by her children, Barbara Hiss (John), Diane Tenenini (Rocco), Joseph F. Van Der Linden (Michelle); Three grandchildren, Joseph W. Van Der Linden, Naomi Tenenini and Kimberly Hiss; One great grandchild, Aiden Van Der Linden; and 4 nieces and nephews.


Angela is predeceased by her husband Joseph R. Van Der Linden, her parents John and Louise Urbano; her two sisters, Rose Truiano (Frank) and Adrienne Thomson (Frederick); her niece, Jacqueline Truiano.


We want to take this time to thank all of the wonderful staff at the Kingsway Manor/Memory Care and the Kingsway Arms for all of their kindness and compassion.


Visitation will be held on Friday, March 31, 2023 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm and a Celebration of Life will immediately follow at 12:00 pm at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie. Burial will take place at Our Lady of Angels Cemetery, 1389 Central Avenue, Albany, NY 12205
