East Greenbush- Sylvia Jean Brooks was born on August 5, 1960, in Albany, NY to Mae Henrie and George Brooks. At the age of 62, she transitioned her earthly home (Evergreen Commons Nursing & Rehabilitation Facility) in East Greenbush, NY on Thursday, January 19, 2023. Sylvia was employed for many years at Burger King, a Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA), and a daycare provider. Sylvia had an infectious smile, she enjoyed watching her soap operas, having cocktails, cooking, and socializing with family & friends. She would not talk on the phone while it was thundering & lightening.

She was predeceased by her father, George Brooks; paternal grandmother, Eleanor Brooks, and maternal grandmother, Frances E. Melton Allen.

She is survived by one daughter, Tomika Nicole Perry; one grandson, Qua’Zeek Mikki Perry; adopted children, ShaDaya & David Pearson; longtime friend & companion, Wilson Brown; mother, Mae G. Henrie; one sister, Jacqueline M. Jenkins-Cox (Edward); three brothers, James A. Brooks (Born); William J. Thompson (Shameek); Erwin M. Jenkins (Just); godparents, Arthur & Beatrice Melton, god sister, Jenna Faye Wallace all of Albany, NY; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, great nieces & nephew’s and other relatives and friends.
