1933 - 2022

Richard J. Morrell 89, of Clifton Park passed away Sunday November 27, 2022. Born March 9, 1933 in Albany, NY the third of four boys to the late Edward and Agnes Morrell.

He was a devoted son, brother, husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. Rich spent a lot of time in his earlier years building and flying model airplanes. He was a longtime member of the Thunder Bolts and several of his planes have been pictured in various publications.

Rich was a proud Korean War Veteran, he was proud to be Spokane Native American and Tribal Elder. Rich loved to go to Powwows and share those experiences with his kids and grandkids. He was able to fulfill a lifelong dream to learn how to drum.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his true love Toni.

Rich is survived by his children, Michael Ruff, Richard Morrell, Patrina Morrell, Michael Morrell, Melissa Morrell and Denise M. Montemarano, as well as 11 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.

Calling hours will be held on Sunday December 4, 2022 from 2-4pm at New Comer Cremation and Funerals, 181 Troy Schenectady Rd Watervliet. A burial with full military honors will take place on Monday December 5, 2022 at 2:30pm at the Gerald B.H. Solomon National cemetery in Schuylerville.
