William McArthur Sanders
William was educated in the City School District of Albany. He attended Delaware Community School, Thomas O’Brien Academy of Science and Technology, Stephen and Harriet Myers Middle School, and graduated from Albany High School in June 2022.
William was an avid boxer at the Quail Street Boxing Gym and received his Silver Gloves in 2018. He also enjoyed soccer, baseball, and karate. Most importantly, William loved spending time with his family. His sparkling eyes and bright smile illuminated the room and easily warmed the hearts of others.
William was a member of the New Life Church of Christ Apostolic Faith Inc. He served as a Memorial Service Attendant, Bible Bearer, a member of the Youth Choir and an active member of the Youth Department.
William was preceded in death by his grandfather, Arthur Lee Ellis, Sr.; and his godbrother, Keyshawn Cooley.
He leaves to mourn; his mother, Wakenda Ellis; father, Ernest Sanders; grandparents, Lillie Jean Ellis, Ernestine Sanders Dunn (Alfred), and Nathaniel Shane Breaker (Febe); his sisters, Ebony, Brianna, and Destiny; and brother, Ernest Jr.; Aunts, Crystal (Eric), Jeanelle (David), Ernestine, Shamell, Monika (Mike), and Quadria; Uncles, Johnes (Yolanda), Mitchell (Dionne), Lamar, Ervin, Arthur Jr., Alfred, Jonathon, Bobby, and Shane; Godparents, Seon and Katrina Hinds and Methuselah Lawson; Godsisters, Savannah Brown, Imani Henderson, Ka’Cona & K-Lana Hinds, Alexis Johnson, and Kayla Wilson; Godbrothers, Jahlil Young and Dominyc Martin; special people, Samuel “seed” Bunch, Bishop Willie R. Lawson, Sr., J’ana Smith, Orris McGill, Zyrus Ellis, Missy Sanders, Jahyae Brown, Tilib HollyHood Lib, Marquai Johnson; and a host of great aunts, great uncles, cousins, and friends.
