GUILDERLAND
Mizener, Gordon F., 86, passed away peacefully at home on Sept. 15. He was born on Feb. 7, 1936, in Glenmont, to the late Frank F. and Eva L. (Maxwell) Mizener. Gordon served in the Air Force and was stationed overseas. He then worked for the Capitol Police in Albany as Security Supervisor. He married the love of his life Shirley Radcliff who he met while bowling and they were happily married for 48 years. They had many interests in common, especially traveling and camping. A lover of the outdoors he enjoyed working outside in his yard, feeding the birds, squirrels, and the wild cats. He was a helpful neighbor and friend, often picking up branches in their yards and shoveling the end of their driveways, and will be missed. Gordon is survived by his nephews, Harry Adams and Randall Gabriel; nieces, Ann Marie Dubach and Barbara (Paul) Peterson; great-nephew Sampson (Shirley) Moracco and great-great nephew Kaden Moracco. He was predeceased by wife Shirley, and his sisters Agnes Gabriel and Phyllis Adams. A calling hour will be held at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie, on Thursday, September 22, from 10 to 11 am. followed by service at 11:00 am. Burial will take place immediately in Memory Gardens Cemetery, Colonie.
In lieu of flowers, The family requests that donations may be made in Gordon's name to the Mohawk Hudson Humane Society, 3 Oakland Ave., Menands, NY 12204
