Kenneth D. LaFleur (“Pepe”), 87, husband of the late Margaret A. LaFleur, of Colonie, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday August 6, 2022.

Born August 16, 1934, in Albany, New York, he was the son of the late George and Helen LaFleur.

Ken attended Hudson Valley Community College, and then served in the U.S. Navy. He later worked for 31 years as a Sergeant for the Albany Police Department retiring in 1988, then went on to work as a Police Officer for the VA Police in Albany, NY until his retirement in 1996. He loved camping, fishing and bowling. He was an avid fan of the NY Mets. Ken especially loved his family vacations at Disney.

He is survived by daughters Lynne Charon, Barbara Bortle (Walter) and Susan Farrell (Daniel) all of Colonie, NY. Grandchildren Walter Bortle III, Stephanie DiPompei, Karen Simmons (Andrew), DJ Charon, Nichole Farrell and Great Grandchildren Joshua DiPompei, Daniel Simmons, Matthew Simmons and soon to be born Luke Simmons and former son in law Dan Charon.

In addition to his wife Margaret, Ken was predeceased by his four brothers and sisters.

Friends and Family are invited to attend a visitation on Thursday, August 18, 2022 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM with a prayer service to begin at 6:30PM at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie NY, 12205. Burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contribution may be made in Dad’s name to Community Hospice 445 New Karner Rd. Albany, NY or Mohawk Hudson Humane Society, 3 Oakland Ave, Menands, NY.

The family would like to thank Community Hospice for the care they provided to Dad especially Gail, Joe, Steve, Angel, Darren, Nick, and Diane and Christine from the VA Hospital Hospice.
