He is survived by his loving wife, Marion Irene, of Clifton Park, and sister, Mary Ann Lunz of Gerry, NY. Predeceased by parents, Joseph C. and Clara Hammer, as well as brothers, Kenneth, Richard, and James Hammer. Bob was cherished by his four stepdaughters: Donna (Nicholas) Robilotti, Cindy (Darren) Schaperjahn, Darlene (Michael) Farron and Michelle (Clyde) Starkey.
Bob was blessed with watching eight grandchildren and seven great grandchildren grow. We will miss his mischievous smile. He enjoyed reading James Patterson novels and watching Western movies.
Bob was born and raised in Buffalo, NY. He was a veteran of the United States Navy and served in the Korean War. Bob was a loyal, dedicated worker for Du Pont Polymers of Buffalo, NY for 30 years until he retired and relocated to Clifton Park with his wife.
The family would personally like to recognize the loving compassion of Dr. John Pezzulo, and Hospice caregivers Roni and Lori, for making his remaining days as comfortable as possible.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his calling hours on Monday August 8, 2022 from 11:00 a.m. to 12 Noon at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie, NY 12205. All are invited to attend his funeral service at the funeral home following at 12 Noon. Interment with full military honors will be held at St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery, 303 Sand Creek Road, Colonie, NY 12205.
The family asks in lieu of flowers, donations be made in Robert’s name to Hospice c/o The Community Hospice Foundation, 310 S. Manning Blvd., Albany, NY 12208.
