Green Island- Anne Elizabeth Benedict Collins "Betty Boop", 91, passed away peacefully on July 30, 2022 at home surrounded by love.

She was born on March 21, 1931 daughter of the late Alexander and Florence Benedict in Odanak, Canada.

Betty was a survivor of the Indian Residential Schools of Canada. After leaving her home she took residency in Albany, NY where she met her husband Maurice "T Boy" Collins. They spent their summers on lake Champlain and were active members of the Legion and Ladies Auxiliary of Green Island. Betty lived life on her own terms in her own way and she never changed all the way until the end.

She was predeceased by her husband, Maurice; her loving son, Genie Boy.

Betty is survived by her loving and devoted brother, Louis "Toad" Benedict; her granddaughters, Tania Benedict and Chantal LaChapelle and many other relatives and friends.

Calling hours will beheld on Monday, August 8, 2022 from 5-7pm at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 181 Troy Schenectady Rd., Watervliet, NY. A graveside service will be on Tuesday, August 9, 2022 at 10:30am at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery.
