Knox – Edward C. Smith Sr., 79, passed away Tuesday May 24, 2022, with his family by his side. Born on June 29, 1942, in Albany NY, he was the son of James Smith and Elsie Smith (Kleinke).

Ed married the love of his life Carol Mackey in 1963 and they enjoyed 29 years together before her passing in 1992. When Ed was not working, he enjoyed spending time with his family, racing go-karts, fishing, going to watch the dirt car races, cookouts and going on vacation with family and friends. Ed will be remembered fondly by many as a hard-working kind person who loved to talk and was always on the move.

Ed was preceded in death by both his Wife Carol, Parents James and Elsie, and mother’s Companion Willie, Sisters Elsie, Dorothy, Daisy, Brothers James and Fredrick.

Ed is survived by his, Sons Edward (Karen) Smith, James (Jessica) Smith, Brian (sandy) Smith, Stephen (Jennifer) Smith. Grandchildren; Kira (Kyle) Cagwin, Ashley and Kaleigh Smith, and Great-Grandson Cooper Cagwin.
