Bernard J. Lazarus of Latham died Thursday evening May 19, 2022 at St. Peter’s Hospital in Albany.

Born in Albany he was the son of the late Louis Lazarus and Rose Ann Pascucci Lazarus.

Mr. Lazarus was a graduate of Troy High School. He continued his education at Hudson Valley Community College studying Accounting, Business Law and Economics.

He was employed by the State of New York and during that time worked in various state agencies including the Department of Education, the Department of

Transportation and the State University of New York at Albany.

Following his retirement from the State of New York he worked in the Banking industry.

A long time resident of Latham New York, he was known by most as “Bernie”. He was a kind and caring man. He was everyone’s friend, funny and full of life.

Devoted to his family and friends. The pride and joy of his life was his beloved daughter, Suzanne Furia, her husband, Joseph Furia and his grandson

Joseph D. Furia. He was the beloved brother of David Lazarus and Sharon Walko. Proud uncle of Shad, Jarrett and Jenna Walko. He will be deeply missed.

For those who wish to pay their respects, grave side services will be held on Wednesday, May 25, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at Memory Gardens, Colonie.
