Latham - Gerald R. "Jerry" Shaw Sr., 76, passed away Sunday, May 1, 2022 with his loving family by his side. Jerry was born in Amsterdam, NY and raised in Hagaman, NY, the son of the late Richard and Hilda Shaw.

Jerry worked many years as a truck driver for APA Transport Company in Glenmont, NY before retiring. When he was a youth, he loved playing basketball with his church league and working on the family dairy farm in Hagaman. Jerry was the bowling coach for many years for the Latham Bowl Girls Travel League. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and attending all of their sporting events. Jerry loved to bowl and always looked forward to the annual Classic Car Show in Lake George, NY.

Jerry is survived by his children, Gerald R. (Melissa) Shaw, Jr., Tricia (Geneo) Savoca; his grandchildren, Richard, Geneo Jr., Gianna, Jenna and Julia; his sister, Marilyn (Jim) Brian; his Aunt, Barbara Mein; and loving relatives and friends.

Calling hours will be held at New Comer Funeral Home, 181 Troy Schenectady Rd., Watervliet on Thursday, May 5, 2022 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm. Interment will follow in Hagaman Mills Cemetery, S. Pawling Street, Hagaman, NY.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Jerry's memory to the Latham Fire Department, 226 Old Loudon Rd., Latham, NY 12110.
