CLIFTON PARK - Michael E Kopp, SR. was called to eternal rest on 01/12/2022. He was born on 2/28/1933.

He was 88 years old and a communicant of St. Edwards Parish in Clifton Park. He was born in New York City and graduated from Chaminade High School. He received his Bachelors Degree in civil engineering from Manhattan College in 1958, obtaining his license to practice professional engineering in New York State in 1968. He was active in the Albany County chapter of the NYS Professional Engineers Society, serving as president in 1973. He worked at NYS DEC and finished his career as the lead administrator for NYS business recycling program, retiring in 1994.

He is survived by his devoted and loving wife, Sandra of 54 years, his son Michael Junior. (Stella Harding), his daughter Melissa Maye, and his grandchildren Derek Adams (Brittany), Ethan Maye, Emily Maye (his Pal) and Michael III (Audra). He is the son of Michael and Florentina Kopp, brother to Florrie (Fred) Valentine, Emily Fate and is predeceased by his sister Carol Schlageter. He is also survived by many nieces.

Mike’s greatest joy was his family, whom he cherished and cared for with his mild-mannered gentle kindness. His endless humor, overwhelming love and support was appreciated by his family. Mike loved God with all his heart and live to serve Him well, notably by being a kind person who treated others as he would want to be treated. Services will be held at the convenience of the family.
