In Memory Of
Robert Harrison
1932 - 2021

Robert Harrison, 89, of Guilderland, passed away on November 11, 2021, at St. Peter's Hospital. Robert was born on September 9, 1932, in Albany, NY to Helen Harrison.

Robert lived a long and happy life where he spent most of his free time relaxing in his recliner chair and crocheting while watching his favorite tv shows. He was a natural born artist and had various pieces on display and for sale throughout the capital region over the years. Robert also had a love for playing the harmonica. He could play so beautifully and he always looked forward to the holidays where he could showcase his talent. In his earlier years he would throw a traditional Christmas Eve party where he would spend weeks planning and preparing. Robert was a man of God and a firm believer in his faith. He was a member of the Congregational Christian Church of Ravena for many years where he loved being a member of their church choir. Robert then joined the Washtub Band where he shared his passion for music by performing and putting a smile on those he performed for. He would travel to various nursing homes along with performing regularly at ARC’s classrooms along with any other opportunity to perform at membership meetings and agency picnics.

He was also an avid bowler and participated in various bowling leagues throughout the years where he won many trophies that he kept proudly on display. Robert loved his Pepsi’s and his BINGO scratch offs from Stewart’s after spending his later days at Bright Horizons senior center in Colonie. Robert had a love for plants and enjoyed special trips where he could pick out the perfect ones. If you were fortunate enough to establish a close relationship with Robert then he certainly made sure everyone knew how special you were to him.

Robert spent the last days of his life surrounded by those who loved and cared for him the most. Robert maintained his big courageous smile and his positive attitude right up until the very end. Our deepest condolences are being sent to all of those who loved and cared for Robert throughout the years. His housemate and family at Lydius Street IRA will miss him tremendously but we will forever cherish his memories. Sleep in peace Robert always happy Harrison your family at ARC will miss you.
