In Memory Of
Martin Francis Tully
1955 - 2021

Martin Francis Tully left this world early on Sunday morning September 19th in Albany, NY. His big generous spirit left his earthly body when his heart couldn’t take anymore. Those who knew and loved him will miss that twinkle in his eye and his ever-present quick wit and good humor.

Marty was born August 5th 1955 in Albany NY, the 6th of 8 children. He is predeceased by his parents Thomas & Betty Tully and brother Tommy. Survived by his wife Barbara Charles Tully, children Nicholas Tully (Lisa), Meghan Tully (Karlee), grandson Bennett, siblings John Tully (Kathy), Kathleen Houser (Michael), Anne Robitaille (Donald), James Tully, Daniel Tully (Alane) and Joseph Tully, sister-in-laws Colleen Tully, Jane Charles Savarise (Marco), Catherine Charles and many wonderful nieces and nephews.

He met the love of his life, Barbara “Barbie” Charles in high school. The two were inseparable for 48 years. From senior year until the day he left us, they shared much joy and weathered all of life’s storms together. He told Barb every day, “You’re so beautiful and I love you.”

Marty graduated from Colonie High School in 1973 and received a BA in Accounting from Siena College in 1978. He had a successful career with the State of NY and retired from the NY Workers Compensation Board in 2011, after 31 years.

Martin loved to play golf, watch sports, listen to country music and cherished his daily calls with his children and FaceTime with grandson Bennett. He loved dogs and always had Lucy by his side.

Marty’s stories will live on and we will never forget his love, caring and ability to keep us all laughing.

Friends and family welcome for a Memorial Mass with Father Sean O'Brien on October 23, 2021 at 1 p.m. at Siena College Chapel, Loudonville, NY.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Martin's memory may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
