Marcia A. Knowlson, 84, passed away on Tuesday, September 14, 2021 at home with her loving family by her side. Marcia was the daughter of the late Garrett, Jr. and Frances (Dooley) Geurtze and sister to the late Garrett Geurtze III.
Marcia graduated from Bethlehem High School and then continued her education with Vermont Junior College. Marcia worked for the New York State Senate as a receptionist.
She was also a proud member of St. Matthews Episcopal Church, Colonie Silver Streakers, The Brunswick Seniors, Abraham and Sarah at the United Church of Cohoes, Saturday Club of Cohoes, Tops in Colonie, The Troy Christian Women and The Eddy Auxiliary in Cohoes.
Marcia enjoyed spending time with her family, as well as meeting people and socializing.
Marcia is survived by her loving daughters, Debra (the late Greg) Stalker and Theresa (Ed) Wright. The proud grandmother of Steven and Joleen.
A funeral service will be held Wednesday September 22, 2021 at 11:00 am at St. Matthews Episcopal Church, 129 Old Loudon Road, Latham, NY 12110. Burial will be private at Memory Gardens at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St. Matthews Episcopal Church, 129 Old Loudon Road, Latham, NY 12110 or to a Charity of ones Choice.
