Esther Foston, 63, of Amsterdam, passed away on July 14, 2021, at Wilkinson Nursing Home.

Born September 29, 1957, in Houston, TX, she is the daughter of the late Ned and Bertha Foston.

Esther was a graduate of East High School in Denver Colorado and an East Angel. At an early age Esther showed great promise and natural talent as an artist. This would lead her to becoming a draft artist for a firm with no prior experience and education. Later in her life, Esther would leave Denver Colorado and move to New York to help raise her ailing sister’s children. Esther demonstrated what true selflessness was and went above and beyond as a caretaker and surrogate mother to her nieces and nephews. She was both caring and compassionate.

Esther enjoyed art, history, politics, music, movies, playing cards and good conversation with family and friends. Her generosity and influence will forever be felt, and she will be forever loved and cherished by those closest to her.

Esther was predeceased by her parents Ned and Bertha, sister Janice Brown, and brother Ned Foston Jr..

Esther is survived by her brothers, David Foston and Michael Foston, her nieces, Ebony Scott, Ravin Brown, Edwena Brown, Chauvin Foston, Shauntiquea Foston, her nephews, Miles Scott and Michael Foston Jr. She is also survived by several grand nieces and nephews.
